Our July talk is by Timandra Slade

Timandra will brilliantly retell a story of bravery, capture in enemy hands and the subsequent courageous escapes of cousins Captain Jimmy Johnson of the Royal Welch Fusiliers and Captain Chris Waters of the Royal Engineers. Using a combination of personal manuscripts, photographs, sketches and letters,

Timandra chronicles the determination these soldiers had to return home through France, Spain and into Gibraltar, as their journey becomes increasingly perilous. Join author Timandra as she tells us a remarkable family story of soldiers on the run in WWII, a coincidental convergence of cousins and their, not so safe, arrival in Gibraltar.
