How our group works

• Mostly we meet once a month, we usually visit exhibitions or have someone to give us a talk about some aspect on fashion related topics.

• Once you join our group I would give you my bank details (via WhatsApp) so that I can purchase all the tickets for the whole group.

• Only very occaionally we would travel in member's car but then we would share the petrol money and parking.

• The majority of us have bought a Senior Railcard so we are able to purchase cheaper rate rail tickets (OFF PEAK). We usually take the first train out after 9.30am – a stipulation for using a Senior Railcard. These times can change. Please check all messages from me. If in doubt - call me.

          9.38 from Westcliff
          9.41 from Chalkwell
          9.43 from Leigh on Sea

• It’s important to note that if you are intending to travel back after 4.00pm you have to be careful to buy the correct tickets (please ask at the rail station that you are travelling to and from ). You might end up buying 2 tickets one OFF Peak and one Peak - please be careful.

• You might need to buy either 2 single tickets (depending on time of return journey), a Rover ticket or a One Day Travelcard (if we’re using the tube). You can of course use an Oystercard or your credit card for the tube. Also, very soon you’ll be able to use your credit card / debit card at some of the main rail stations on the C2C route – but please note that they will not be able to acknowledge your Senior Railcard. You would need to arrange this for yourself.

• We travel to London or the venue and I try to arrange for us to stop for a coffee / tea and a loo stop before going to the exhibition.

• We attend the exhibition and then some people choose to go for lunch or go shopping ‘under their own steam’ or return home. If you’re returning home after the exhibitions you’ll usually be back at the railway station by 4.00pm so could use an OFF-PEAK ticket.
